Our History

1972: Pool & Patel was founded on 1 May, marking its inception in tandem with the Seychelles Companies Act 1972. Originally, it bore the name "Michael Angus Pool & Company."

1982: A merger with Suketu Patel & Associates led to the formation of BDO Pool Bruce & Patel, becoming a full-fledged member of Binder Dijke Otte & Co (now known as BDO International).

1997: In a strategic move, KPMG approached the firm to assume the operations of KPMG Peat Marwick (Kenya) in Seychelles. By 1 June, the firm transitioned into a full member of KPMG International, boasting Bernard L Pool FCA and Suketu Patel FCA as its partners.

2000: On 1 October, Gemma W Roberts FCCA was welcomed onboard as the third partner.

2002: KPMG International's revised membership conditions, which advocated for a merge into a larger regional entity, didn't resonate with our ethos. Choosing a path aligned with our philosophy, we transitioned to the status of a KPMG correspondent firm—a relationship we maintained until 2009.

2009: In April, the firm forged a new alliance, becoming a full member of Moore Stephens International, now known as Moore Global. This international accounting network, with its 522 offices spread across 112 countries, perfectly complements the business profile and scale predominant in Seychelles.

2019: September saw the induction of Christina E A Georges ACCA as a partner, laying the groundwork for Mr. Bernard L Pool's anticipated retirement in December 2021.
